Good news, Brad. Now you, Steve, Mae Lyne and I can all ride together!!! Did they replace the relay?

Holding ya to that mate......

Ride Safe

To the dealership's credit, instead of making me wait another couple days, they took the suspect relay off a new bike and put it on mine while they await shipment from Triumph.

And Steve, you're most definitely welcome to hold me to my words. Although it's clear Carl will need a few days to recuperate. He told me he'd be riding again in a week, but I think watching Evil Knievel reruns is what got him in trouble in the first place! My two cents: Mae Lyne needs to turn on TV Land and take the remote from Carl's reach.

Brad

And right you are Devo and Dave! Bout time to finally enjoy the bike!! And it certainly is a fun bike to ride. :y115:

Good for them. Glad you got the bike back. :y115: Now, I go to the doctor Friday. I should be riding in a week; if Mae Lyne goes with me it will about three weeks! :y114:

Carl,

You're too funny! Maybe, just maybe, a little healing/rest might do you good. :y115: ...But I'm no doctor, and I probably wouldn't listen either...so take my opinion for what it's worth=0 cents.

Brad

I'd get more rest if I didn't have to hobble around on sticks! I can't believe how out of shape my upper body has become. Those sticks are wearing me out. I am exerting far more energy hobbling out to the truck, pulling myself up in it without putting weight on my right foot, getting out at my destination, hobbling across a parking lot, etc. It would be much easier to saunter out my door, get on the bike, park close to my destination and stroll to it! :y114:

Seriously, we had a major KIA mission in two phases - one on Tuesday when the hero made his final flight home and today for his funeral. Doing these on crutches is exhausting and a PITA.

Hey there, I'm about to buy an '09 model....what year is yours? Are you having the problem still? If not, how did you go about resolving the problem? Let me know, thanks.

Freddy, his is new; so I think it is an 08. You might want to wait until this summer and check out the new 1600cc T-Bird. The Triumph demo truck will be at the Daytona Speedway next week with three T-Birds for display; no demo rides.

Carl, I can identify with the loss of muscle and out of shape. While my hand was in a cast and during those early months when I couldn't do anything with my arm, my muscles went to flab. The skin was hanging off my bones!
I'm a fairly muscular guy and quite fit with good muscle tone and I couldn't believe how wasted my arm became! For a while I didn't think I would ever get my strength back, but over time with a lot of effort on the weight machines, and a bit of sweat, it all came back.
Because of working out every day I think my arm is in better shape than before the crash :ya2:

I didn't realize how out of shape I had become sitting around doing nothing until I started driving the hack. Am I ever out of shape! I have to start working out again. As soon as I get out of the air cast and into a splint, I will do what ever working out I can do that does not stress my foot.

Hi Freddy,

Sorry for the delayed response. I've been given the "honor" to sit for a professional engineers exam on April 24th, and the "honor" is scaring the sh—, stuff out of me. Much more to do, but I'll make a point of checking for posts better in the mean time.

My Speedmaster is an '09 with the new EFI system. All is working properly now, and it's turning out to be a great bike. I ride it to work almost every day, even in the frigid cold of Central Florida (which has been in the 30s and 40s not long back). The relay that had to be replaced seems to have been just the fix needed, and as a result, I can wholeheartedly recommend the bike. As far as the Thunderbird, I don't know enough to comment outside of its good looks.

Brad

Brad, I'm glad to hear your bike woes are solved and that you are riding it and enjoying it. Give me a call when you are free. And the best on the exam.

I'm planning to have myself cloned, and giving the clone the BS I don't want to do—work, study, and dishes. Meanwhile, I'll ride my Speedy, look for a good woman to put on the back of my Speedy, and try to find the right luggage/luggage accessories for my Speedy. Any good ideas on how to strap a duffel on the back of her? Seems the downsloping seat and fender are making it a challenge. I'm looking to ride back and forth to Delray (200 miles) over the coming months, and I haven't completely decided on saddlebags.

The best mod I ever did on my Speedy was the Venture kit

So often it's those stupid silly little things that drive you crazy.
We immediately think it's something deep in the bowls of the machine. It couldn't be something as simple as a loose battery terminal.
When it is you want to give yourself a good a$$ kicking :y23: :y21:
