Amazing...3,990 miles?! Uhm........if you ever wanna get rid of her...... uhm......I know a "guy" :y15:

Lol, I hadn't planned on offing her so quick, but the right offer would buy anything i own lol. $3600 would be the magic number. have some extras that belong with her that would go. extra cdi, original kick stand, new oem kickstand complete assembly, the sump guard etc. lol

The guy i bought her off of had a nice bike collection, but couldn't ride then because his left leg was crushed in several different accidents and he couldn't hardly walk. all his bikes were in his shed collecting dust. he had the tiger took apart to lighten it and after his last injury gave up on bikes... Unlucky him, but lucky me i guess.

That is a sweet looking Steamer! Egads!! less than 4k on the clock! Most of the ones I see are hammered by now. If I had seen this bike before I bought mine two weeks ago, I would have snagged it in a heart beat! Hmmm, how could I convince the wife that I need TWO tigers?

That dash is like NEW....amazing......well I will keep that figure in my head for future.....not in the market at the moment (and I don't think you are either) :y2:
You got about 30-50,000 miles to put on her at least.
I had a 98 Sprint with 190,000 on it when sold. Yep you gots a looooooong time before that wears out.

Yeah 96Steamer, you should should ride the heck out of that you have miles of smiles ready to go, hey we should get a Southeast US Tiger meet going somewhere.
There are three of us here already...VA, NC, and AL

SShhhhh GRRR8! !!! We are secretly plotting to over throw the current forum regime and change this thing to TIGER TALK!!!!!:y2: We are amassing on the Southern Wall now but mostly have em surrounded :y15:

A ride out would be a hoot Maybe somewheres in Georgia? Or Barber Motorsports Park? I would bet Carl (Florida) and Hemi (Texas) would most likely throw in on that to......well if there's pie!

***see how I steered that right back to a legitimate thread????? *** Stealth GRRR8! Stealth! Its what Tiggers are best at......before they POUNCE!TIGER POWER!!!!!!******

Wow, I need help.

Dear god man, are you serious?!! 190k?? as in miles? That is amazing!! I would venture that this has to be a record, or at least in the top few that have done that kind of mileage. I remember thinking 45k was a lot when this customer used to come into the dealership where I worked for a while. He knew I liked Triumphs and was always trying to sell his 96 Sprint to me, and I would hold up my fingers in the shape of a cross at him and tell him he was crazy with that kind of mileage...what did I know?

I'd be down for a meet, but I'd need a healthy long heads up to get things squared away so I could make it! If all goes well, all kinks will be worked out tomorrow except a new chain slider, which I'm waiting on bikebandit to send out, Any of you guys wouldn't happen to have a spare would you? lol.

Steamer I could be wrong but I think Hemi is shooting for at least 6-8 months from now.....you should be good to go:y15:

Wait it gets better!!!! I purchased the bike as a "basket case" due to the sprag clutch being knackered. The P.O. (an ex Marine) had dismantled the bike and pulled the engine and then lost interest, and bought another bike....I took the rolling chassis, five boxes of parts (all labeled and in "groups") and the engine home for a song. Cracked the cases and was AMAZED how clean the internals where---I expected (with the mileage) a complete rebuild was going to be needed. NOPE even the oil pan screens where damn near spotless!!! pistons rings everything spotless.
(HUGE argument FOR regular oil changes!) thanks to the P.O.s meticulous catalogging labeling and bagging the parts the rebuild was a breeze.
Replaced the sprag put it all back together and sold to a fella in Tennessee who continued riding it for the next three years well over 200,000 miles (could still be riding it as far as I know) but we lost touch with one another.
So great lesson to all change oil regularly and your Triumph will last.......forever :y15:

No need for the handshake when you have pie!!! TUP

Me too, but then we would have to wait until the middle of summer. It might be too cold for all of us to ride around in our Tiger Striped Camo Kilts that would be required if Blessed with the attendance of such Royalty as Sir Shane. :y2:
