What is the deal with the yellow headlights? I see them on many of the custom builds. Mabel's new Ryker has yellow tinted headlight bulbs. The lenses are clear. I guess I can see the need if you live in a foggy climate. But here in wide open country, I want to see and be seen. I am going to change out Mabel's H4 bulbs for LEDs.

I'm not seeing many yellow headlights on the road. I did see a few during Bike Week. But many of the custom build pics posted here have yellow headlights,

Yellow Headlights are Great if you want to standout like a Streetlight.
Good way to get a Right Turn Accident.
Only any good, if Extra Light, on Foggy Days.
Help you see sweet F.A., but better than White Light , for the Oncoming Traffic to Swerve.!!

L.E.D. are Brilliant nowadays , but don't know about Penitration on Unlit Roads.
And " Anyone know , what they like in Mist and Dogg and on Snowy Days.???

I have a yellow headlight on my America. I ride it mostly in the daytime, and in traffic. It stands out. Not doing it to be cool, just safe. I tried an LED, but I didn't like it at night. I use a Motorcraft #48885 H-4 bulb. ...J.D.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I need to see a headlight in daytime to understand how it stands out.
I have used 140 watt High beam / 90 Watt bulbs in Older Style Metal / Glass Headlights.
Which were Great , but burnt out Regulators , Alternators and Bulb Holder , then Batteries.
So I wonder , how big a LED could!go, because they get hot I hear.
Just as HIDs get Hot!
????Question ???
PS: I'll start a new thread on this subject , after this ones finished, if no comment.
