Thank you for all the replies and advice. I wear a shoei gt air helmet and have the sena Bluetooth system. I like music to keep my mind clear. I use the triumph long haul screen which keeps the wind blast off my chest and like it for what it’s worth. I dont like a large windshield but thats a personal choice. I have bought some loop ear plugs and will try them. I was looking at the smaller triumph windscreen but wasn’t sure if that would keep the wind last off my chest and put my helmet in clean air without the turbulent noice. I would like to protect my hearing. Has anyone used the small triumph windscreen? and did you like it? I did buy the pug semi-fairing that I don’t like and will sell it. Thanks again for all the replies. Dennis

Good the know you have one of the better rated helmets. Not sure of the Db level in them, so yeah, try the earplugs and let us know how it works for you. If the windscreen is keeping wind off your chest and helmet without buffeting, then sounds like a good combo for you. The smaller screen may cause some turbulence around your helmet.

I have the small Triumph shield ,often referred to as a fly screen , and must say it does a good job of keeping dead insects off the front of the clocks . It is so low it has no effect on Helmet wind noise and being the clear one it it is almost invisible on the Thruxton . It does a good job of organizing the air flow around your arms and chest on the TTR’s forward lean riding position but would probably not be of much help on the more upright posture of the standard Bonnevilles . On my Tiger 800 and 850 the windshield stays in the highest spot always , works for me on long hiway days with plugs and my RPHA modular lids . Leaving the little chin curtain on helps with the noise too .
