I just watched the supper hour news and was stunned by the devastation done by wind storms in the north central and eastern US states. It's as if a hurricane swept through.
Many lives have been lost and millions are without electricity in the searing heat and humidity.
I hope any of our TT members there are OK - and everyone else of course!

12 dead last I heard. Many, many more injured. It was like a hurricane on land and without the warning!!

Millions are without power, telephone, or cellphones. Washington DC is blacked out and will be for days. Ohio got hit hard and many have no power or clean water....with the extreme heat, they are heading to public places with Air Conditioning.

It's been quite warm and humid here for the past two days.
Yesterday, in the sun, it was 35C (95F) and 30C (86F) in the shade. That's very warm for here.
We just had a storm warning for thunderstorms and possibly hail this afternoon. Very unusual for us.
It's probably the tail end of that system that did so much damage in the US, but no high winds are expected.

We have line crews headed to the region to help restore power. This time of year it's usually crews in that area headed to the Gulf Coast to help restore power. Our crews usually get sent north during ice storms instead of getting to go up there in above freezing temperatures.

Glad it was minor for you all, Rocky.

Tony, there are also a bunch of crews from Florida up there, too. Florida is usually on the receiving end of power crews from other states.

The US and Canadian power companies have a great working relationship.
When one or the other needs help they only need to ask and the crews are there in double time.
We have crews from the provinces of Ontario and New Brunswick south of the border helping out too.
Lets hope things get back something resembling normal soon.
