Protection and work in progress. Using kerosene in a spray bottle.
I do. Still seemed like it was necessary to spray. The chain seemed pretty dirty and there was crud and junk everywhere, dirt, rocks to nuts. How do I know the chain is clean enough, when a cloth no longer comes off black?
Yes, but for practical purposes, it doesn't have to be that clean unless you are showing the bike.I do. Still seemed like it was necessary to spray. Ok, good. I’ll just make sure the gritty bits are all out of the miscellaneous crevices and the cloth looks a bit clean. LoL.Yes, but for practical purposes, it doesn't have to be that clean unless you are showing the bike.
Thanks y’all! First time is always slower and harder. Appreciate y’all’s experience.I agree, just get the worst off. When the cloth is fairly clean, be happy with that. You don't need to get it showroom clean.
My first time, I’ll learn what is enough as I go along. LoL.Looks really good. I very rarely clean mine that thoroughly. I just get the grunge off, lube it and ride!
Yes you will.My first time, I’ll learn what is enough as I go along. LoL.

To me, liberally means only a few drips. Over saturated mean lots of drips and running off. Don't over think this, It is not rocket science nor is it life or death.![]()
