Hey guys & gals,

I just recently started riding a 2017 ST and I'm experiencing some discomfort on longer rides. Specifically, I'm getting some right wrist fatigue & the stock seat is pretty uncomfortable. I am 6 ft / 185 and I've riding cruisers the last 8 years so I'm not sure if that is adding to it based on the change in riding positions. I have thought about changing out the bars for more of a tracker stance (higher/wider) as well as looking at aftermarket seats. The issue I have with the seat that limits my options is the rear fender tidy kit I put on (New Rage Cycles) that won't work with a slammer-type seat.

Any help, guidance, thoughts?

Thanks,
JJ

I recently made some adjustments to my ST that may help you. First I adjusted the angle of the brake and clutch levers to ensure there was no bend in the wrist when using the levers. Though I wasn't having any real discomfort beforehand, there was a noticeable increase in comfort. Next, I rotated the handlebars towards me a bit - I'm a shorter rider, so perhaps the opposite problem for you. Of course, this adjustment require a re-adjustment of the brake and clutch levers, but that was easy because I already knew what felt best. On the whole, my riding positions is more comfortable and I feel as if I have better control as well.

Hi,
One thing I've always found on any bike is the position of the bars greatly improves things. Loosen off the clamp slightly so the bars can be moved, then sitting on the seat move them bak and forwards until it feels naturally comfortable. Always worked for me.

Every new seat has the same issue these days..try to not change it because every seat is going to take some time before it can make its place.
