Nice 1 Isn't the triton a triumph engine in a norton frame? Don't know much about old brit bikes but i think thats the case right?

Yep, that bike is a Norton including gearbox with a pre unit Triumph engine, it's fitted with a BSA seat just now. In the future it will be stripped down, I'll then think about what direction to take it in. The big thing is I have the bones of a Triton to get creative with.

Nice find Kev. TUP You need to keep both of them so that cute granddaughter will have her "Classic" and an old bike when she is riding age. :y2:

Who was the previous owner as I must admit Pink would not be the first coulor I would go for on a bike

There is pink tie wraps on the market and that would make it Gromit compliant. :y2:

My living situation is the one nd only think holding me back from buying a second bike, tho when i do it will be japanese vintage. A two stroke and preferably suzuki. I think it would be fun to get one in as good a condition as possible, but restore it to like new. I see them all the time for what i feel is pretty cheap.

My advice on that post is get out and get one now, find a storage facility because they are on the way up. Do you want to be one of those blokes that tell stories about the bikes that got away?

Now that I have the basic bones of a featherbed Norton I can do all kinds of things.

Norvin, Norton powered by Vincent (engine is too hard to find).

Norbsa, Norton powered by BSA.

Norley, Norton powered by Harley Sportster.

etc,etc.
One that I will consider is Norton powered by a new EFI Bonneville, just think, great handling, very light, modern reliability but still a Triton.

I don't know why that last "older" pre-unit Triton is in my post, not what I wanted to post and can't get rid of it.CRY

Back in the 80's I owned a Honda 900 F and it handled like a dog. I always thought about how it would have been in the Norton frame. Not sure if it would have even fitted but it was a thought BGRIN

Dazco, how are two-strokes fairing in California with the restrictive pollution laws?
The smelly, smokey ring-ding-ding of a two-stroke never appealed to me - but that's just me.
Just about everything is becoming "collectable" these days and even bikes that were considered undesireable or even trash, now have a following - and the prices keep rising.
As was advised, maybe you should try to get what you want now and put it away for the future.

well done kev ! although i didn't think you'd have much trouble selling any of them :y15:

When selling things I always remember what someone said years ago,

"Do you want to sell it, or have it for sale?"
The point being put a price on the thing that gets you out of it, but is still attractive to a buyer.

Another thing a real-estate agent once said to me was,

"A good deal is a deal when both people walk away happy."

I wanted the Triton but came at a very good price as a two bike package, move the Trident on, win win. Three happy people, the original seller (both bikes gone) and the two new owners.
See I'm not only an archaeologist but a facilitator.:y2:
