Been meaning to post a question to the folks who have the Triumph Thunderbird 900 and was wondering if anyone has added any aftermarket saddle bags. I have had the original leather saddle bags and the one I currently own, had saddle bags that went in the garbage due to all the fasteners turning green and the leather has seen better days. They looked nice, but the hole to get things into the saddle bags were so small, I gave up trying to pack anything! I know that Givi may have something, but want to shy away from hard cases ones As they maybe totally functional, but lack character. I am sitting reading my rags that I get monthly, and I saw an article by Robert Smith in the March/April edition of Motorcycle Classics where he was riding through the East and West Kootenays of BC on his Laverne 1200 TS Mirage. On page 21, Robert is sitting on the bike looking up at the peaks in the Rogers Pass and I spotted his saddle bags called eclipse. My first thought was these are styled perfectly for the TBird as they appear to be manufactured from a hard fabric?
Does anyone have some further comments, suggestions related to marrying saddle bags to the TBird 900
