It's Sunday. No thinking required on Sundays here. All over the UK, Brits have or are roasting. It's an instinct. I just went out on my Triumph, got the ingredients, just started roasting. Beef today. It's random. Could be chicken, or lamb, or pork.

Excuse the razor blades, no need to worry. I was using them to smear Hylomar Blue on my carb gaskets. Dining table is my work bench, and I'm not a good tidy-upper.
I remember when I was still at school this was something my mother would do every Sunday.

My random thoughts are about the terrible forest fires we have here and in NB - and in many parts of Canada.
I live in the city, but my daughter's home is in the area outside the city where the fire started. They had to evacuate last Sunday with what they could carry along with a dog and two cats. They returned this morning to an undamaged home. Spoiled food was the only damage. The power was cut for safety reasons. A great many now have no home to go to. So, so very sad for them.
I read a lot of news. Somehow these fires haven't until this morning registered in my small brain . Seems awful.
Not just Canada, although of course principally Canada, affected.
Hope humanity collectively acts.

Sunday again. Tempus Fugit.

Lamb today.
Oh, cool! Learned something new, today!
No Yorkshire pudding today. That's only with roast beef. (Made with dripping,)

Lamb, so it's mint sauce. (I guess the sharpness offsets the fattiness).

Apple sauce with pork (pigs used to be kept in orchards, eating the windfalls).

Stuffing with chicken. (I guess because chickens have a cavity that can be stuffed.)

Now that looks really good.

Speaking of hooked, I get married in 9 days.
We celebrated our anniversary , June 30th , on Canada Day July 1 as we often do . I stayed over at the cottage and cooked breakfast and went touring as is the tradition . Found a bird colony on the North Shore , checked out how a beach was doing after last fall’s hurricane and saw a nice rainbow on the way home .

These days honestly is a rear commodity especially when dealing with large business.

So I purchased two items from Amazon USA a few weeks back. Today I get an email informing me that they issuing a refund to my credit card.

It seems they over charged me on the import tax. So I will now get a refund of 2.70 South African Rand =0.14580979 US.

I suppose looking at the big picture here and if these small amounts are charged to a huge amount of customer's it could add up to be a lot of cash. This could then cause an accounting issue for Amazon.

From my side it would have been more logical to be asked if I wanted the cash back or would like to donate it to charity.

They could then at $X make a payment to a selective charity.
