I really enjoy citrus fruits and have an orange tree in my garden but it started not doing so well a few years back. So I decided to try planting a clementine tree a good few years back.

https://plantura.garden/uk/fruits/clementine-tree/clementine-tree-overview
It seemed that the place I planted it was a good spot for the tree as it started growing really nicely and reached a nice size by last year. This year we started seeing fruit on it for the first time so that was great. The funny thing it only seemed to have fruit on the one side. Maybe that will change by next year.

So today I was able to pick my first clementine off the tree. They seemed that they were ready for picking as a few had already started to fall off. When I picked the one it also just came off in my hand no effort needed.

So needless to say I was rather excited and off I went to peel it and try one. Well that was a bit of a shock to my system as when I took a bite of it I was not sure if I was eating a very sour grapefruit. It was really very sour and bitter to the point I had to just spit it out. The fruit also did not seem that large so I am not sure if this was a factor here.

So maybe we might get a better showing of fruit and I sure hope so.

Homemade Lasana for dinner.

This must have been the best one we have ever made, glad we have some over for dinner tonight.
It's okay.

I've got a crust. Butter has melted though, and cheese all gone.

Can't really have someone over to eat. Unless I do a Jesus. Although think he started with a bit more than this?

My random thoughts are about the terrible forest fires we have here and in NB - and in many parts of Canada.
I live in the city, but my daughter's home is in the area outside the city where the fire started. They had to evacuate last Sunday with what they could carry along with a dog and two cats. They returned this morning to an undamaged home. Spoiled food was the only damage. The power was cut for safety reasons. A great many now have no home to go to. So, so very sad for them.

It's Sunday. No thinking required on Sundays here. All over the UK, Brits have or are roasting. It's an instinct. I just went out on my Triumph, got the ingredients, just started roasting. Beef today. It's random. Could be chicken, or lamb, or pork.

Excuse the razor blades, no need to worry. I was using them to smear Hylomar Blue on my carb gaskets. Dining table is my work bench, and I'm not a good tidy-upper.
