Well when I got up this morning the temp was 9 degree Celsius = 48.2 degree Fahrenheit . It is now 12:00h and the temp is sitting at 31 degree Celsius = 87.8 degree Fahrenheit.

Aren't you lucky :y115:

JHB Got a High of 18degC today :hu: For those of you that live in countries with much colder Winters
18deg is cold especially in my office, my toes have been frozen all day
Summer must come soon :y18:

18C cold? Oh dear
It's just past 9:00 AM and it's 17C where I am. I'm wearing shorts and a T-shirt, but when you're a hot blooded Canadian male like me .........
18C is a wonderful temperature for me. I can wear my riding gear and not cook inside it. I can do physical chores outside and not die in the heat.
Here in north eastern Canada a 30C day is a very hot day and I can barely function. The past two weeks have been in the 32-33C range which is unusual for us. I guess there is something to this global warming stuff!
But now that hurricane Bill has passed the jet stream has adjusted as it usually does in late August and brought us the cooler weather with lower humidity.
From now on our night time temps will be around 10C and days around 24C. I love this time of year.
But of course, as we move into September and October the temps will continue to come down - then the first thing you know it will be winter again.

Naaa, you would function just fine. I nice brisk day at -15C is just the thing to make you sit up and take notice, get your blood moving, feel full of vim and vigor :ya2:
But of course you do all of this in heavy boots and a parka :y114:

Come on now Dave, we're not THAT far north :oh:
14 -15 hours of darkness max at this latitude.
Just like anyplace, when it gets dark you switch on the lights and Bob's your uncle.

Rocky, I could not function in your winters. My idea of winters is your summers! I need to ride year round. I really don't like temps below 60 F (15.5 C). I can deal with temps in the lower 90's F (32-34 C). And I ride in full gear.

:oh: What you mean you have light where you live, we have heard of those over here in Darkest Africa :y114:

Yes Dave.....I live in an igloo, wear snowshoes outside, constantly have to fend-off polar bear attacks, and I cut holes in the ice to fish for food when I'm not busy clubbing baby seals to death for blubber oil to fuel my lamp.

I'm with Rocky, 18deg is plenty hot enough! I hate hot weather, I much prefer winter sunshine, a crisp frost and clear blue skies. The problem is it is usually raining here in England, as I am typing this it is lashing down outside!

The local Harley-Davidson dealership has what they call the "Annual Penguin Run" on New Years Day every year. All types of bikes are welcome and do show up. Mind you that January 1st around here is normally below 0 Fahrenheit (below -18 C) and the ride is typically about 4 hours long. Unless there is actual snow on the roads, I try to make this ride.
