im the same as Hemi i was riding dirt bikes and 2 stroke suzuki's , kawasaki's and yams back then ive never realy had any use for in line fours ,
ive always liked my 2 stroke twins and triples and v twin motors ive owned in line 4's but never really got on with them .

Love the LC,s had about four.GT380's then GS850 Suzuki did loads of miles on that.
Forget the power race, some real great riding stuff there, for the day that is.

I didn't come back to motorcycles until 1992 so I missed that entire era.
From 1958 until 1991 I had my nose to the grindstone and bikes were not part of my world at all. I didn't look at them; think about them; nothing.
I've only come to appreciate them since 1995 due to my membership in a vintage bike club and I see all the great restorations from back in the day that turn up for club rides.
We have some great looking and running machines that are perfect for riding the country and coastal roads that we love so much at 55 mph - plus or minus.
A day out in the fresh air and sunshine at average speeds on an "old" bike is what it's all about.
That said, most of us also have modern machines for when we want to go somewhere in a hurry :)

Shane,I operated the first dispatch company on the south coast using two 380's not the ideal bike for the job due to the fuel consumption but the first bike I could do two trips from Bournemouth to London and back on in a day without needing a crane to get me off!.

Rocky,I don't think we really appreciated them in the day.It was just the Jap incoming era,was only once we got the real quick reliable stuff we realised their worth compared to what we were used to.Bantams,AJ's leaky, hard to start stuff.

Take a look at some of these in our club.
