Help! My 2004 Bonny has started to get tricky on downshifts from 4th gear, oddly never from 5th to 4th. The basic symptom is initially no gear on depression of the lever. This can be overcome by re-engaging the clutch, adding a "blip" of throttle then trying again. I fear something is heading south with a total failure imminent. I did drop the bike on its left side a couple of months ago breaking the gear lever foot pin. Replaced the whole lever but did not immediately notice this problem. Having said that I did not use the bike much, just pottering about in city traffic. The downshift gremlin only became apparent on the open road in the past week.
I have read about similar issues with T120s of much newer vintage. The Youtube videos point to the gearchange shaft assembly getting worn. However the design of the pivot plate does not correspond to the part for my gearbox.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
