I'm unable to get the side covers (83-4809, 83-4310) to fit flush with the side panels (83-4854, 83-4803) on my T140V. I'm wondering if my air filters are too thick. I'm using the emgo filters from CBS. Anyone have experience with this being an issue? my covers sit about 1/4" proud of the side panels.

thanks

Based on my 73 TR7V, which has a similar arrangement, I have a couple of questions which might help pinpoint the problem:

  • Do the edges of the filter covers touch the filter housing or is there a gap between them?

  • Does the rubber seal on the filters fit snugly on to the locating bosses in both the covers and housing?

  • Are the centre bolts (which retain the filters/covers) tight or do they try and rotate when tightened.
