Ok, wanting to bring this front end back to stock. Bought the right stanchions,gAtors, headlight brackets, all seals and bushings. Being a 69 Bonnie, it's a shuttle valve front end. So my father was the one who put the extended front end on in the 70s. Are the exposed springs for esthetics? When I put the stock stanchions on, do these springs stay? I want to get it as close to stock as possible, but am getting conflicting info from the web, and my father can't remember exactly what he did 40 years ago. Thanks for any info on advance, don't think this bike would be as close as it is to getting back on the road without this site!

thanks gp, i beleive the stanchions are 6" over. so with the right stanchions the spring stops can be removed. after engine is back in and makes it around the block, the front end will come off and go to stock. got the abutmeant cups and cork buffers, only thing needed now is original handel bars. thanks again
