Will you leave the controls in the original place or move them as well
[/quote]
I;m thinking the mid pegs will just be extra pegs. the controls will stay where they are.
There is a kit available state side which moves the pegs and controls back 4 inches, but the price is out of this world and it wont fix my problem.

Damn Devo, more important, keep us posted on your health Pard. I pray things will work out for you.

Dave.

Thanks Dave, being a lymphoma, it is treatable, its just a real pain in that it knocks you around so much and the position of the tumour limits my mobility alot, which is why I havn't done a lot re the extra pegs as yet cos working down low is very hard for me at the mo.
However, things will get better, its just a matter of time.

I bought a set of Street Boogie mid pegs for my America and it made a world of difference. Unfortunately, I don't think he makes them anymore. You may be able to find a set in the classified section of bonnevilleamerica.com . I bought mine used from a member there. Also, come to think about it, there is this, http://www.fasteddysports.com/?page_id=3&product_id=374 , a clamp on kit that does the same thing. Don't know how strong they are.

cheers lonzo
unfortunately, with the crazy shipping costs out of the U.S. plus the lousy exchange rates at present, it does make them an expensive option.
I'm sure I'll be able to come up with something suitable.
I only have to make brackets as I'll use the passenger pegs for the actual pegs.

Lonzo, your the man
I had found a post with pics of dwights pegs, but not the brackets.
Thank you.

Dave, I had seen these, but that price without freight is $750 nz, a lot more moola than I wanna spend and I dont think it would bring the pegs far enough back to stand up on.
but thanks anyway.

Hey Lon
I'm picking you have those same brackets
So wot did you do with the rear brakeline where it fouls the right hand bracket.

I carefully re-bent the brake line.
Couple other things I learned; the bottom of the peg supports touch the pipes. I'm not home right now, I think its the heat shield. Aftermarket, unshielded pipes may have plenty of room. It leaves a mark after a while, but as long as I ride this bike I will have the mid pegs mounted, so not an issue with me. I changed to an updated sprocket cover (the smooth, non-ribbed one), and had to grind out a place on the bottom for clearance. Worked fine with the stock '05 ribbed sprocket cover.

One other thing- many people have done away with the passenger peg hangers and screwed the rear pegs into the exhaust bracket hole. Same thread. Just have to add a flat washer or two to have proper orientation when tight. Can put your feet there, get some relief on a long trip. I remember before I had the mid-pegs, I could put my left foot on the re-located rear leaving right foot out front, and actually stand up going over railroad tracks or rough patches.

thanks for that Lon.
I figured I would have to get the brake line re run but I'll try your way first.

Thats the set up I'm currently running, but where you have them now would be definately better.
