Well, I sold the VFR on Thursday and bought this gorgeous '07 Bonneville T100 on Friday from a chap in Embrun (south east of Ottawa - 10-hour drive return, yikes). He's done a lot of nice mods to it including double-walled headers (no "bluing") and Raask silencers (sweet sound-sounds just like those '66 650's I used to lust after), LeatherLyke luggage, Dart fly screen, Triumph custom single-rider seat, chrome chain guard, chrome cam covers, chrome side stand, chrome grab rail kit, (off to buy a 4-liter container of Mother's Chrome Polish) and a centre stand (yay!) and then had it painted from the original black to this gorgeous yellow using the same paint codes taken from the Ford Mustang and had the tank Triumph swoopy markings hand painted including the gold pin striping. The Bonnie does have a stiffer ride than the VFR and less shock travel at the rear so you do feel the bumps more but it is, in comparison, very light at the front and pretty much runs through curves on her own. You "think" right and she goes right. Great braking. Much lighter overall too, about 40 kilos so slow speed maneuvers are easier on my old self. Lower CofG and therefore no wanting to tip to the inside and so no arm wrestling. There's some vibration too (which I like-something weird going on there I guess) but no mirror shake. 5 speed and lotsa torque. She just makes you want to stay on her all day (again, that's weird too) She sparks lots of conversation too. Mostly old guys like me who fondly remember British bikes from the 60's and who conveniently forget what a nightmare they were.

Congratulations! That is a gorgeous Bonnie. You did very well. Thanks for the good report.

You might want to consider a suspension upgrade if it still has the stock suspension. That will help the ride and the handling.

That really stands out well. That's a very tidy bike you have there, now your mission should you wish to accept is to put your camera in the saddle bag and some sandwiches in the other and go out and take some great pictures of beautiful Canada, before the harsh Canadian winter sets in, or take the car out when the winter sets in and take some nice pictures of frozen Canada, tell you what can you do both ??. Enjoy your Triumph

This is a mission I will gladly accept while weather permits! Then, like many of my countrymen, I will head south to Florida and spend the worst of the winter there.

The colour looks so unique and I know what you feel with the Bonneville a great fun light nice handling bike that makes you want to ride it!

Have fun with her she looks great!
