We are so spoiled in the south, that snow is sure fun when you are young it but a little age makes it a pain. The good thing about the south is there are so many days that the weather is not a factor no matter what your outside hobby is. But then again the snow brings on alot of good hobbies too! Can't have it all.

Holy moly TD, did the National Guard get there yet to rescue you?
Want me and Rocky to drive through raging blizzards to help out?
If we come we'll be bringing bikes, so we'll need a garage and sleeping accommodations :D(heck, I would sleep in the garage)

I don't think yall can make it in time, besides the weather is so bad down here its going to be 1 or 2 days before it lets up and then we have to contend with the long lines at the beer store. I tell you this is some of the worst weather we have ever had!

Welcome to my world, Dave............welcome to my world! But it won't be 70F next week, up here!
"Snow covered" Jim

As was forecast, last night we were hit with about 30cm (12") of blowing snow. The wind is still high and the snow is still blowing around, but the snowfall appears to have stopped.
Hard to tell though.
The city plow just came by to clear the street, and as usual, filled in my driveway with a mountain of snow. The snowblower will take care of that quite easily.
The snow looks light and fluffy. Nothing to do but dress accordingly and start up the blower.
This is the first serious storm so far, but we have at least 10 weeks to go so it's not over 'til it's over.

Looks nasty Shane. Is that gone now?

Glad to see Triumph David got the assistance he needed ;) during his time of crisis.

Like Rocky, I have to go out and clear the driveway of the 10-15 cms (4-6") that fell last night as a result of the same system that hit Rocky. We just got less snow. That is not usually the case as we traditionally get more snow than our neighbours in Nova Scotia.
We're alright, even though there is snow on the ground and on the roads we have these things called plows that push the snow off the roads.

Phew, time for a rest!
I just finished clearing the snow and it had drifted much deeper and was firmer than I thought, but Crafty the Craftsman took care of that.
There is always some tidying up to do with a shovel and a deck to clear so there is some shovel work needed.
I like to clean the deck to keep the weight off it. If I didn't very heavy ice and snow would build up. It's also it's my second exit from the first floor in case of an emergency.
But I take my time and it eventually gets done.
Time for a cuppa BGRIN

Thats some serious snow, our snow melted and it got down to 17F last nite, i barely can handle that. When i was in college in 1967 i worked at a local lawn mower plant that made mowers in the winter and snow blowers in the summer and wondered how well they worked, we used sawdust to test, play, with them. later in life i found out how well they worked and moved back down south. It seems like winter last longer than summer, that 10 week's period of snow sure sounds like a long time. I'm just ready for spring fishing to start.
