We're also getting some rain today so while in Wollongong (in the car) decided to check the bike access to this (you better hurry or I'll get the tag).
I really like this life size bronze monument to our coal mining history. It depicts today's miner helping one from the 18th century.
To my mind a reversal of life, inasmuch as the 18th century miners union started the fight for safer working conditions enjoyed today.

I took a shot but sadly deleted of the brass plaque attached behind.
I think it was paid for by the miners union and the women's committee?
I find it very moving to study and think about the symbolism.
I had (now deceased) relatives who had been seriously injured in coal mines back in the bad old days.
Miners do hard and dangerous work there is no getting away from that

It's in front of the library in the middle of town so will have to do it early before too many pedestrians are about.
I actively play a couple of tag games kev, and I've found that generally if you give pedestrians a chance to jump out of the way before you get to them they will.
Ya have to keep an eye on the older ones tho,there not quite as quick.

Sunny morning with a rain storm on the mountain slowly moving in my direction.
Took a quick blast into Wollongong to get the shot.
I hope you're happy because on the ride home the storm and I were on a collision path.
I was in the sun and a black wall of water was determined to drown me.
Got to about 750 mtrs from home when the storm won the contest.
Next tag, because I've now got pneumonia, a HOSPITAL.
