I to have had a bit of trouble locating one of these. Even in our main downtown area. Bus stops abound, but no Taxi Stands. I may have to take a ride to the airport, but as I recall, no "stand" just a curb where all the taxis line up.........would that work?

In our area we have a Mexican running around with a beat up old mini van with taxi spray painted on the side of the van or if I run into Houston I can probably run by the airport to get the line of them waiting. Taxi stands are pretty much illegal around here plus you can't flag down a taxi, you have to call and request one or get one at either of the airports which is the only locations the law allows such.

The main reason for posting my earlier comment was just to get the folks living around areas that have taxi stands to start thinking about grabbing a photo.

as far as I am concerned a taxi stand is any place where taxis park up when available for hire.
here we have them at every train station, airport, and even most shopping malls.
How the heck do you guys get a cab where you live.?

Well.....except in the very urban areas, like New York City or Los Angeles I guess we don't everyone has at least one car (Motor for you Shane :y2:) if not multiples.....and bikes, scooters, something. Spoiled lot we are here.
I am 43 and have never actually ridden in a cab, ever. Taken a few "Airport park shuttle vans" from airports to rental cars.....but never been in a cab.....that is rather weird isn't it?

+3 Totally agree!!!

As if these rates aren't high enough, they charge more for a fuel surcharge and "extras" whatever that means.......:y13:

Okay. I got brave and rode to the Airport. This is as close as I could get and still get the bike in the shot.

The line of Taxicabs held about 30. They have their own staging lane on the left side of the drive through. The same Dallas Police Officer that gave me grief a couple weeks ago was working again today. I think that poor man hates everybody.......

If this is acceptable then how about a shot of your bike at a boat ramp??? (some place that you can launch a private boat or personal watercraft)

Excellent job Don! :y2:

Good lookin Tigger in the shot as well. I hope the officer didn't give you to much grief.

Boat ramp you say.......might can tag that tomorrow for sure. My Son is in town visiting from Tallahassee (crossed the time zone lol) so tied up with family things today:y15:
