Looks like it needs a bit of work done but I suppose it will be broken down for the new building. Are your guys house made of brick or more the timber type house

Assume you are asking about houses in general.
Up to the late 60's working class housing was timber, brick houses were for people with a bit more money. Now it's the other way around, people with a lot of money use timber, iron and glass.
My investment home is brick and the one that I'm living in just now is timber. They are both 60's built.
 
Ok that is what I was asking as we only have brick houses this side but we do get those timber type house these days but they were looked at more as budget housing

Our climate allows for timber homes but these days bricks are cheaper than lumber, we've moved away from timber on brick piers to brick on concrete slab.
A mate of mine and his family build unusual homes for the fun of it, check his dads house.
