I'm trying to dismantle the front forks of my Rickman CR, they are the large 41mm Rickman forks, and I have reached an impasse.
I have removed the bottom nut but it seems the center shaft may be threaded in to the outer housing and needs some sort of tool to remove it. Can anyone describe the tool that does this job? There seems to be a large slot in the top but it's really too large for a screwdriver. The outside 'may' be hexagonal but I can't find a socket that fits.
I also cannot remove the circlip that holds the top seal with the fork tube in place so it seems the fork tube must be removed for the circlip and seal to be removed.
Any help in this area will be very much appreciated. If anyone knows a forum like this one that other Rickman afflicted congregate I would be grateful for a suggestion.
