I just replaced my front and rear breaks 2 weeks ago with Galfer Sintered HH front and rear pads, the ones I chose were solid without the gap. I looked into the friction profiles of the gaped vs solid and there is very little difference but it does build up heat faster and makes breaking a little more aggressive and sharp. It mostly depends on you and how you ride, I ride mostly in a city environment and with very "disrespectful" cagers so my riding is more defensively aggressive therefore my breaking follows that trend. What pads are you guys running in the rear? Need to buy a set and was looking at EBC DOUBLE H SINTERED BRAKE PADS FA214HH (REAR).
Pleased to hear it.Thanks all, went with the EBC mainly because the local AMX store had them in stock ( cost almost $60 AUD though...) have already fitted them, gave the calliper and pistons a good clean while I was at it. Rear brake feels much better, the old pads were very worn though.
If you need any assistance let me know.Heard so much good about them that when it's time to replace mine, I will be choosing EBC.
There's a EBC rep on here. They introduced themselves in the introduction sub forum if you have any questions.
