Herding cows can be easy with a calm herd and you can do it with almost anything. The work comes when you have a stubborn one or a few, then a cowboy on a good cutting horse is worth their weight in gold.

Cutters just amaze me every time I go to a horse show! They're like gigantic cats.

Of course, there will always be rough terrain with rocks and streams where only a cowboy and his horse can do the job.

Lol.....my daughter had a show horse (quarter horse) that was afraid of cows!

That's funny. I have never seen a horse afraid of cows. However, I have mostly around working horses and rodeo horses.

These weren't beef steers or anything either. Just your basic dairy cows. We thought it was hilarious too.
