Why is there a disconnected Black/White wire?
The wire in the first photo was just going into the printed circuit board.
It also has to connect to the Black/White wire out of the engine to the Transistor Box as in View attachment 54027

The resistance did not show 137 Ohms
Before condemning the Stator:-

. change your meter's battery for one you know is giving full Volts;

. set the meter to "Rx1", measure the resistance again as I posted at #34, being absolutely sure the end of each meter lead is making very good contact with the metal part of any terminal you are testing;

. if your meter still does not display 137 Ohms, borrow another meter or take the Stator to someone with another meter and test with the other meter, just in case it is your meter that is faulty.

If neither meter still does not display 137 Ohms, if you contact Coventry Spares in MA, they can supply a new Stator; if you send them the existing Stator (and Transistor Box?), they will test them for you.

Hey Rudie, sorry for the long silence...
I've had a run in with a bit of skin cancer and had to have surgery. Hope to get back to working on the bike soon.
gtm.76triumph, Tom

I had a rough summer with surgery then radiation treatments for cancer. Feeling great now!
Just took my 1976 T140 to a local shop that specializes in British bikes. He is going to go through the bike front to back/top to bottom and get it road worthy. (fork seals, fork bearings, wiring harness, new carbs, flush and replace all fluids, go through the brakes, new clutch cable, adjust clutch) The bill is estimated at approx. $3,000. once complete. I told him to keep it through the winter and have it ready for spring.
