THANKS KEVIN!
I have been needing to pee about every hour or so for about 18 months now, and I kept putting it off.
After reading this post I went to see the Doctor, he started out with a questionaire to find out my IPSS, (International Prostate Symptom Score) I scored 27 with 35 being the highest and worst!
So next up was the PSA test, a week later the 'Ive got a new friend test' or to give it's afficial title the DRE test (digital rectal examination:y13:). I have since had a scan and been diagnosed with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia.
At the moment I have been prescribed Tamsulosin Aplha Blockers, but I may need surgery in the future if the symptoms can't be managed by drugs.
So I would like to thank Kevin for giving me a kick up a@@se to get the test!

I've been told over and over again that this condition is usually very slow advancing and early detection is the key to actually stopping or slowing it to a point that it will only get you if you live to about 150 years old.
I'm sorry to read that you're getting treatment but you're way better off now than where you'd be in a few years without knowing.
I've two friends that have had treatment and both look like winners. So good luck and positive vibes from me.

Good man steve
like all cancers prostate cancer is only treatable if caught in time.
short answer,dont f... with it.
On the other hand, enlarging of the prostate happens to us all as we age,and the old rebore is a simple procedure not to be avoided.
I actually had an appointment with a urologist (now my new boyfriend ) last weds and thankfully he found most of my symptoms were bought on by the chemo, and as they are now easing I am now on a 6 monthly virtual appointment system.

I got a clean bill of health a couple of weeks ago; but my PSA number seems to be creeping up. It is still in the normal range, thankfully. No rebore job yet.
