Thanks for noticing. I edited the font so they would exactly match, before there were hard edges and the ratio between height and width was a bit off...

Just one question, what is the rear visibility like with the bar end mirrors?

My wife wants you to know that she loves the bar end mirrors too. She rode a BMW F before and neither the stock nor aftermarket mirrors had this little impact on the shape of the bike with so much visibility

HDReady, as a new ST owner, all I can say is good job to you about all the mods you've done. Beautiful bike! Love the rich green color and the all-black around the headlamp/speedo.

Two questions for you, if you have time --

(1) Any thoughts about crash bars for your bike, or no? They helped me a lot with my bikes in the past, and I'd like to put footrests on them for longer trips.

(2) Did I read that one of you is using the LSL risers? I had heated grips put on my 2017 bike; is there a problem installing the risers if the heated grips are already there?

Thanks!

Hi Sarah,

Crash bars are always a good idea as long as they don't ruin the looks of the bike.

I'm using LSL risers with the heated grips, no problem!

Enjoy your modifications!

Really like your modifications a lot!

May I put a question: could you describe the improvement by the shield driving above 120 km/h - if there is any?

Thanks
Holger

We barely ride above 120. It does take a lot of pressure from my torso, for my wife the wind even flows over the helmet. She is 163cm, I'm 182cm. I guess at a steady 120km/h it would do almost nothing for me and take the pressure off her torso...

Come to Böblingen to give it a try, see for yourself?

Thanks for your speedy reply ;-)

Would love to come abroad but living in Berlin it’s not THAT near! I‘m just thinking about giving away my R 1150 R and shift to a member of the Triumph Bonneville family due to the easier maneuverability. Strange enough there is no Street Twin for a test ride in Berlin. I just try the Scrambler this weekend which I like driving but do not like so much aestethically.

May be you have an advice to choose from Street Twin, Street Cup or T100? My preferred driving style is touring country roads and mountains (just had a trip in the Pyrenees). I‘m not a sport driver and driving above 120 km/h I only do to bypass a distance, not for fun. I read a lot in the Internet but did not find a comparison between the Twin and the T100: how would they feel with respect to my driving preferences? Agility in serpentines? In the last respect I found the R 1150 R even better than the scrambler.

Would be glad to read your comments.

Cheers
Holger

Holgerf,

could you describe the improvement by the shield driving above 120 km/h

Ohhh, you lucky Germans, always subtly bragging about your Autobahn! :D:D I rarely am able to get my ST over 60 mph/95km/h here near Washington DC, USA, because there's just too much congestion/traffic. We did a 135-mile ride yesterday and the highest speed limit posted - in the rural areas, no less!- was 95 km/h. I'm envious of you!

So, at the risk of butting in on the windscreen discussion, I have the Dart Classic flyscreen (the shorter one). Installation was easy, and it does a very good job of redirecting any buffeting to my torso rather than my helmet. I believe you can tweak the angle of it a bit, if you need to. I'm 168 cm/66 inches/5'6" tall.

We had fairly strong winds yesterday on our ride, and I was very glad to have the flyscreen. But I'm thinking about getting the Marlin for the extra coverage.

On YouTube, Tony at the Man Cave does a great job reviewing both the Dart Classic and the Marlin flyscreens for the Street Twin. I love his installation and review videos - thorough but concise.

I have the Dart Marlin on my "Brand X" and like it very much.

I have a Givi on my Bonneville and also like that one very much, but this isn't a great picture of it.
I already had the Givi long before the Dart Marlin became available. I liked it better than the Dart Classic at the time.

Nice pics, Rocky! I think I'm going to start saving lunch money for that Marlin. Yesterday's ride was much better with the Dart Classic than without it, but it would have been nice to direct even more wind away from me. Thanks for posting.
