Beware of Customer Identification Program (CIP) Bank of America Fraudulent Emails

Recognizing email fraud is not always easy. The criminals who use email and online fraud to try and get their potential victims' personal, financial or account information are adopting increasingly sophisticated techniques. Below is a sample of a new type of phishing email message that uses a fake Customer Identification Program (CIP) Bank of America email message threatening account closure, to trick BoA customers into visiting phishing websites that steal personal and financial information.

Just goes to show how desperate some might be that they do believe some of this stuff.
I guess with the millions and millions of people online there is bound to be some that are easily taken in.
They throw out the net and see how many suckers they can catch.
Younger generations should know better and it breaks my heart when an elderly person is taken advantage of.
We had such a case in this area not long ago. To their credit, local TV did a spot on the incident with the police fraud squad and they gave out many warnings TUP TUP

Beware of "Grandparent Scam" - Do Not Be Fooled

Scammer are calling grandparents, posing as a grandchild in an emergency, in an attempt to trick the same grandparents into sending them money to aid their grandchild. The scammers send an email message to, or call the grandparents claiming that their grandchildren need money for bail, legal fees, food, injuries, repairs for their car, or other emergency. The scammers will then ask the panic grandparents to wire money to them or buy cash cards and send the numbers to them. This type of scam is called the "Grandparent scam."

Receipients of the email message below, which the sender claims he is dying from throat cancer and like to donate thousands of dollars to a trusworthy and honest person before he dies, is another attempt by scammers to trick their potential victims into sending them personal information and subsequently sending them money or financial information.

Scam - myflexjob.com or flexibleonlinejob.com is a Fraudulent Website

The website - myflexjob.com or flexibleonlinejob.com, is a total scam. Basically they tell you that you are doing data entry for companies doing free trials. They charge a $25.00 fee for a back up of storing files. They claim that it is actually free because you get 2500 point, with each point equaling $1.00, which by the way you can't redeem until you have 5000 points. You can then begin the work. The scam is that you actually are filling out the trials offers yourself using your credit card. You basically pick companies free trials and go to their websites.

Facebook Scammers are Asking Users to Wish Disfigured or So-called Ugly People Happy Birthday

Beware of Facebook scammers who are posting pictures of disfigured people, people with disabilities, or so-called ugly people on Facebook, to trick Facebook users into commenting on them by wishing the same people a happy birthday in order to make the posts popular. This type of activity is a Like-Farming scam, and the pictures in them are being used without the owners' consent. The heartless and deceitful scammers are tricking Facebook users into commenting on the posts containing the pictures, are only taking advantage of caring Facebook users, who think they are helping out, by playing with their consciences.

I think a a lot of the people doing these scams need to get a job somewhere and get in a better frame of mind, they are at best wasting their own time when they could be doing something else. But maybe this crime isn't as bad as another one they might get into.

Hmmm....yes.... maybe they should take up that honored profession of bank robbing, or something related, where they might get shot BGRIN

No, scum like these hide in their rat holes where it's safe and prey on the innocent.
