This morning I wanted to test out my new summer riding pants from Moose Racing. The weather was supposed to be cloudy but rain free and in the mid seventies to lower eighties. Wind was negligible. I chose the Thruxton R to ride for this intial evaluation since it has higher pegs than everything I have except the Speed Triple RS. I wanted to find if the air flow over the pant would keep my legs cool since the material is fairly thin with a mesh lining. Results after 3 hours of riding (about 1 tank worth) is these are very airy pants. They let the air through fairly well including the engine heated air at certain speeds. Overall very comfortable and non binding on knees, hips, crotch. Down side is no pockets, so I had to carry my wallet, cell phone, and garage remote in my jacket. Not a major problem.

The Thruxton was pretty flawless too, I did one time slide the rear tire some when I got really hard on the throttle, but otherwise it was a hoot and a half in the tight twisty stuff. I have found that I don't remember to switch to SPORT mode before taking off, so have now mastered the rolling switch by hitting the mode button, wait for the 'sport' to flash on the tach face then pull the clutch and it turns solid. Then the motor is way more responsive and a lot more fun. My brakes may need a little bleeding. the initial braking pressure wasn't great, a tad spongy, but after a few squeezes on the handle it was all good. I'm thinking take a little fluid from the handlebar perch nipple should do it. I really enjoyed the motor going through the curves as I could add power early and keep it tucked into my intended line. Overall agreat day for a ride and enjoyed the new gear for summer riding.

Until I noticed your Gryphon jacket , I had not heard of the brand . Will be waiting to hear your report . Are they only sold in Canada , they are reasonably priced aren’t they ?
I believe they are very reasonably priced. The quality is very good. I have a few of their jackets already and really like them. If you can wait until the end of May, I will be over your way and can show you a few. I like their Vancouver Jacket and Indy pants. That's what I wore to Newfoundland a few years back as well as my Cabot trail ride last fall.

You can order right from their website.

This is what I learned chatting with the owner (a very relatable guy. how often do you get to chat with the owner when you try to chat online with a representative?):
"No we sell in the US from our Indianapolis warehouse and in Canada from our Toronto area warehouse"
He also mentioned a partner store in Santa Clara, CA USA (which I, sadly, didn't make note of). They also have a .com presence: Gryphonmoto.com motorcycle protective riding apparel

Thanks Greyfell .

Greyfell's comment got me to looking into this product line. I also had a chat with both husband and wife owners about whether they did custom orders. They do for racing suits. Specifically I wanted to know about whether they could make larger sizes than 4XL in their Hi Flo Mesh pants. Here is Mr Cuzner's response: "We will be adding mesh pants to 7xlarge in our 2025 product selection." He later volunteered that the intial sizing samples will be done in August of this year and that I could check back then to put in an order (by their sizing chart I'm a 5XL Regular). So now I have a tickler on my calendar to get in touch with them later this summer to see about some different pants with armor.
