Newbie Question

Greeting Guys . Happy Friday . Would like love to know what the item is near my drain bolt in my triumph thruxton . Appears to be leaking slowly and would like to replace in my oil change coming up. Prob just the washer

Back story the bike was a gift from my friend dad who doesn’t ride and this is my first triumph !

I believe that from the angle that is the oil cooler return pipe.

I have not touched mine. You might just want to see if tightening to the specified torque fixes the leak.
It was a bit hard to recognize without a larger context photo.

It’s a shop manual. Looks like a copy of one for the twin Bonneville variants. I’ll take a picture of the cover.

I tried tightening it today but still see the leak . Do I need to take it out ? Or new piece ?

You don’t want to over tighten either. Undo the coupling and wrap some Teflon tape and tighten. Not sure if there’s a specific max torque.

I plan to redo it this weekend. I’ll drain the oil and take out the piece and wrap Teflon tape . I believe a washer or o ring goes there and will replace it
