New Scrambler 1200SE Teething Problems.

Last Friday I picked up a brand new 1200SE, I've done 350 miles so far and absolutely love it, apart from the following niggles.
Day 1- When riding it home for the first time I noticed it was tracking all the ripples and ruts in the road, so I checked the tyre pressures, the rear was to spec but the front was 13 psi! How the hell do you ride a new vehicle off the forecourt with 13 psi in the front.
after getting a 90 degree adaptor for the valve I pumped it up and the handling was back to how the test bike felt.
Day 2 - and 100 miles into ownership the two screws holding the throttle grip fell out on the dual carriageway as 70, a bit but clenching I can say. Called the Triumph recovery number on the card (RAC actually) and they had no record of my numberplate. I explained it was brand new and covered by 'Triumph assist' but they said I would have to pay for a year's subscription. Needless to say I was fuming. After two hours on the side of a busy dual carriageway my wife turned up with some gaffer tape and cable ties, this allowed me to limp home.
Day 3 - Front tyre pressure down 4 psi, add air and go for a ride. For the first time I did some town riding and noticed that at 16-18 mph there is a strange graunching sensation through the handlebars, not really a vibration but the same feeling as when the pads are really worn and you get metal to metal contact when braking, but without using the brakes. The feeling is there when the engine is at idle and the clutch is in when coasting at 16-18mph. I'm thought it could be headstock bearings too tight/loose and jacked up the front. The wheel bearings seem fine and the disks don't seem to drag or chatter when I spin the wheel. I cant really assess the headstock as the wiring harness/cables etc offer too much resistance to get a feel for what's going on. But there's no obvious notchiness or clunking.

Needless to say I will be mentioning all of this when I get the 500 mile service done. To be honest its been a bit disappointing. My first new bike ever and it seems to be plagued with little niggles.

Oh, one more thing, I think they must have known about the front tyre pressure as today I noticed two scratches on the rim as if someone had carelessly removed and reseated the tyre. Not impressed so far by Triumph.

If it were me I’d of taken the bike back I wouldn’t wait until the 500 mile service , I’d also ring triumph hq and tell them what’s happened to your bike as your dealer is obviously not checking the bikes correctly before handing them over to there costumers.
 
I've owned 4 of the "new" Triumphs. One, the ST I had my lawyer force Triumph to take the rotten bike back and refund my purchase. I enjoyed the Bonnies and the Scrambler but overall was not impressed with Triumph.
I am on a Vanderhall now but wish I never sole my 2013 HD Swithchback, I've owned 14 motorcycles and it was the best, not one issue ever, except getting backed into while parked.
Sounds like you dealers delivery inspection was a failure.
 
Welcome to TT and sorry to hear of your new bike woes.
I believe there was a problem with the sealing of the Tires on the 1200 Scramblers. Check the 1200 Scrambler threads for some.
Agree with others, take it back now and have them sort these issues and go over the bike again front to back and check all fasteners
 
I had a leaking front tyre and removing it and refitting it sorted it

I got triumph TPMS as a goodwill gesture for my trouble from triumph UK

the wiring loom is too tight and effects steering and yes it is hard to feel the bearings because of it.
