I was just gifted a new GoPro by my Argentine neighbor. She grabbed it on EBay.

Now I have to learn how to use it - and how to edit. :y8: Anyway, I will be able to video some rides.

Sketchy and I bought one last week, two days before I lost my licence.
It was the HD naked along with the chest mount and handlebar mount.
I can def reccomend the handle bar mount.
The chest mount gives a cool veiwpoint, but on a cruiser it tends to be a bit low.

actually, Mal is down the south Island with it and his bike at the moment, so will be good to see if he gets any footage, especially coming home up the west coast.

Wow cool gift, is the first video ride report ready yet BGRIN

Yes it is a very cool gift. I have been wanting a video cam for several years. No ride report yet; I don't have the cam yet. :y2:

Carl that rocks buddy. I have never used one, but have seen people use them. A guy on the gixxer forum put a video he did on youtube, it was pretty cool he had 2 and mounted one pointing forward and the other backwards, and the video edited to go back and forth between the views. When I have time I will sit down and try and find the link to it. It was probably 3 years ago he made it, but it was cool, and he is a great rider to.

Thank you, Mart. That video with one mounted on the front and one on the back would be very interesting to watch. In that area where you live, you get some some spectacular vids on your bike as well as on your quads.

Your going to have fun with it. The only design flaw is having the power indicator on the front.

Thanks, Gary. I thought about that when I was reading up on it. Guess I'll have to live with that. :y2:

Wow, you lucky dog TUP

Thank you, Rocky. It is a very nice gift indeed. As you probably have guessed, there is more to this evolving relationship than just neighbors. :y2:

Thanks, Harry; and I appreciate the suggestion on the chest mount. I was wondering about that. Please post the video when Sketchy gets back.

Obviously, I will have to learn how to edit, what software to use, etc. I know zero about this stuff.

Carl, on AJs suggestion I am using moviemaker which comes with win 7
tip: use the little question mark in the top right of the program screen to find the help files.

re the chestmount here is a screenshot from my first attempt, shows how it is a bit low for a cruiser.

Thanks, Harry. I see that the chest mount is too low for a cruiser. I will sit on my Tiger and my T100 and take a couple of pics holding the camera to my chest at the right height and see how they look. I may have to go with a handle bar mount and not waste money on the chest harness.

I appreciate the tip on moviemaker. I will take a look at it get familiar. My camera should be here Wednesday.

Way to go Carl, what a gift.

I have helmet, chest and 2 bar mounts for mine. I don't really care for the helmet mount because I'm always moving my head and makes for a hard video to watch. The chest mount is ok, but not my preferred mount. The bar mounts rock in my opinion. I have one mounted on, you guessed it, the handlebar and the second mounted to the right side crash bar. I haven't been able to use the crash bar mount yet but plan to this weekend.

I've got a couple videos I need to edit but I'm having problems with my editing software. Hopefully I get it figured out here pretty quick. In the past I used the Windows Moviemaker on my XP machine and it work great so the newer one should really rock.

I do suggest you bite the bullet and grad a 32 gig or four cards and an extra battery or three.

I forgot to get an SD card today while I was out and, I agree, the extra battery is essential as is a car charger.

If the chest mount was satisfactory for you, then probably it will not be satisfactory on the XC. Thanks for the tips.
