I’m feeling your pain … ouch .
That’s a very amusing and entertaining comment. Really loved the colorful imagery. Still, I’ll refer back to my earlier comment and question, what do you want out of this thread?I considered and tried the 1200.
I was promised a tri-ple but got a two-and-a-half-ple.
Vibration did not show up on the short test ride.
Too many other new sensations to notice.
Was then promised extra torque from the layout.
But discovered that was all sales buIlshiite.
A T-plane two-and-a-half-ple cannot produce more torque.
Shame, because the handling and braking on the 1200 is exceptional.
And ultra safe - even with heavy braking on a sharp bend.
Those braking gizmos really do work.
Shame the shaft drive is so loose and sloppy.
It is worse than Lucy at the local bordello.
Slip, slop, bang, clash, crash, crunch.
A disgrace to the engineering profession.

Some folks love to Beach and Moan about things...basically trolling. I'm aware of a "buzziness" in the bars in my T900 that increases slightly with the RPM's but seriously is considerably less than my friends BMW R80...maybe something was wrong with his? It was pretty, but not for me...especially the shin burning in Texas heat. That’s a very amusing and entertaining comment. Really loved the colorful imagery. There is a guy that believes the Tiger 900 puts out sooo much heat that he regards it as basically unrideable. I guess some people just want to make issues out of things that are minor...
Not scoffing, just pointing out that some people FEEL this is a problem (as with the previous owner of my Tiger mentioned the vibration), while I have the exact opposite experience on both, vibration is felt but not bad enough to complain and the heat is barely noticeable BUT ONLY WHEN I HUG THE TANK with my knees and I purposely hug the tank when it gets cold! LoL. I'm sure there are all sorts of variables with leg lengths, sensitivity, apparel choices, etc.He is not the only with heat from the radiators issue. Quite a few people have complained about that and there are commercial diverters being sold that supposedly help with the issue. Most have not seen much improvement. In anything above about 80 degrees I find the heat somewhat uncomfortable. Hugging the "tank" with my knees helps a lot. In any case I enjoy riding the bike enough I just accept it.
I am surprised at the number of people that scoff at the idea that anyone should be bothered by the heat. I think it's great they have no issue. How it affects you probably depends of your leg position, your clothing, the speed (or lack of it), and individual sensitivity.

Exactly the point I was trying to make. Thanks. When posting about any issue, it’s helpful to have an end goal in mind. It makes it easier to try to find a solution or recommendation. In this thread I get the feeling there is no goal and no satisfactory solution therefore available. Define what one wants is key.
At this point the end goal seems to be prolonging the thread...When posting about any issue, it’s helpful to have an end goal in mind. It makes it easier to try to find a solution or recommendation. Did you not test ride the bike? If so didn’t you feel the vibrations on the test ride. I have test ridden the 900 Rally Pro and the 1200 GT PRO loved both. I would definitely not call the 1200 (or the 900) gutless. Triumph have managed to sell quite a number of these bikes, all the reviews I have read have been very positive (yes the vibrations have been mentioned)I already have the bike - a 1200.
I thought I would get a smooth triple, to replace my lumpy Bonny.
But I got a lumpy triple instead, which was a profound disappointment.
And they would not take it back.

This is his post from earlier in this thread. he did test and owns a newer 1200.Did you not test ride the bike? If so didn’t you feel the vibrations on the test ride. Maybe ride a Harley for a couple of years and then come back to your 1200 you might find it feels a little smoother.
That’s my point if he test rode it and it vibrated so bad why did he go ahead and purchase it?This is his post from earlier in this thread. he did test and owns a newer 1200.

In his post I linked he stated that he did not notice the vibs and his other complaint of lack of torque due to too many new sensations. That’s my point if he test rode it and it vibrated so bad why did he go ahead and purchase it?
I'm curious, where did you get the map?i have bought an Aragon GT and find it has plenty of bottom end power but is lacking above 8k revs. a bit of a trawl on the web suggests it is down to the ETV tables in the map which reduce the butterflies from opening to 100% at higher revs.
i have a modified map ready to load that rectifies this situation but am laid up at the moment due to a knee replacement and ligament reconstruction.
when i get back on my feet i will load it in and report my findings
Found it on the net, you are welcome to a copy of it. i have just tweaked the tables on the sport mode for now to see what the difference is.I'm curious, where did you get the map?
Good luck with your rehab!
Thanks. I appreciate the offer. I was more curious about modified map resources. I have a T120 that is stock for now. I've not come across many/any maps so far and I'm far to cowardly to tinker with one!Found it on the net, you are welcome to a copy of it. i have just tweaked the tables on the sport mode for now to see what the difference is.
i will try and put it in the resources section
it wont let me load if you pm your email i will send a copy that way
