Close, the CX 650 had Honda's "Prolink" back end, this is a twin shock bike.

It's a Yamaha XS1100. Had a mate who got one new and not only still has it but as they are getting cheaper keeps collecting them, don't know why. They started about 1978 and ran for about 4 years from memory.

Another one that I purchased new a loooong time ago.
It should have silver side covers but I liked the striped down racey look.
BTW it is considered very collectible ($$$) these days but I can tell you they are rubbish.
