That would a 1971 Z1
Nifty article as well. :y2: This game is so educational. Plus, I owned one of these fire breathers in 1986. Very quick back in the day.

This isn't my submission but that article isn't correct. It depends on Dave to call it but that bike is part of the Z1 family but not a Z1 and definitely not a 1971.

Edit,
I just had a longer look at that article, IMHO the writer is guilty of revising history to make himself sound "oh so very smart".
The answer to Dave's name the bike is in the second last paragraph when he comments,
" The Z1 is a practical bike too, being just as reliable as ever and with a fine supply of parts - many provided by Kawasaki's original suppliers. The only downside is the price. The Z1's virtues are widely recognized and therefore expect to pay an eye-watering $20,000 for a really stunning Z1, Z1A or Z1B."

Funny that is the page I got the photo from as you can see but when I had already posted the photo I started reading it and I found it seemed to be a bit misleading to me as well. Then I got confused as to what the actual date of the bike was but further pegged it as a 1975 Z1B 900. So if I am incorrect please correct me but I say you pegged it as a Z1 so your go

So Ksquared got to your satisfaction at the beginning with Z1, well done.
Just splitting hairs, I think it's a Z1A from 1974 but a year one way or the other can be to do with different countries.
Sorry for butting in on that Dave, It was sleepy time for you and only trying to help move it on to the answer I figured you were after, won't do it again. :y8:

Actually I am glad you did and you right it seems to vary a bit depending where you are looking at the bike this is what I also found KZ 900 Z1A/B 1974-75

My memory is the Z1A in that colour was 74 and in 75 they had the green Z1B. I never owned one but raced my Ducati against them a lot at that time.

Slightly off topic but Kawasaki made some hot bikes at that time. The 750 H2 was a power house but didn't have the cornering of the Ducati.
My 1974 750SS on left and a very fast H2 on the right.

Kevin that is so cool I love it when you post that type of stuff. Yes this one got a bit confusing for me as I read more about it. I remember them from 76 but when I did more research on it I found stuff like this

http://www.motorbikes.be/en/Kawasaki_Z1B_1975.aspx

http://us.motorcycles4auction.info/2011/07/13/kawasaki-z1-900-z1b-1975-kawasaki-z1-900-super-bike/

http://www.classic-japanese-bikes.com/Kawasaki-KZ1000-KZ900-Z1.html

So as I say I am now taking a dip at it being a 75 BGRIN. Now if you look here they have it as 1975 model Kawasaki Z1B was first produced in June of 1974. and then The 1974 model Kawasaki Z1A was actually first produced in August of 1973

This game is cool because it makes you re look at some of these cool old bikes

It's all too easy to get bogged down in argument about this and that and not worth the effort particularly when people will look at that first link in your last post and use it as a reference. What they don't know is that link is talking about a Z1B and using a Z1 photo to head it, I just shake my head and think accuracy is a lost art.

Post the next one Ksquared it's your go, lets move on.

Yes you are correct that is why I said just take it as the Z as all the links and info I have found conflicts each other by the looks of it. I was hoping to find something on a credible site but so far nothing. BGRIN

:y23: :y23: Now you have made me even more curious on this one so I have also found this and this is the one I remember my mate getting from his dad when he passed his metric exam in 75 so he got it in 76 Kawasaki Z1B Z900 1976

Damn I miss alot when I am asleep............
Otherwise, you are certainly "other"-wise. That was a tricky nut for sure. Congrats Ksquared.
In truth the Kawi I owned was not that color, it had been painted by the p.o. metalflake navy.....really.....(thats why there are NO existing photos of it) and now I am questioning weather it was a Z or even a KAWASAKI!!!! Gotta be careful on the used bike market.
:y2:

This is a Panther, I'd say by the look of the swing arm early 60's but never had much to do with them. While I'm trying to ID it someone else jump in.

Had a bit of a look about and don't know if it's a M100 (600cc) or a M120 (650cc), I'd take a guess and say 120 because it's pulling a side car and if I had one on the side of my bike I'd like the bigger motor.

1962 M120.

I don't know how you guys do it!

Otherwise - you're up

PS HEY - This is my 500th Post!

Congrats on the big 500.

OK I had 2 of these both black, my first was second hand and I loved it so much that I went out and found a new (old stock) bike after they were superseded with the newer Prolink bike. I'm off to bed now so don't wait for me when you are sure you have it carry on with another bike.
