Music Tech Forum

I am thinking along the lines of starting a music tech type forums where members could give each other advice on playing and repairing and possibly selling musical instruments. Now I know we do have a few members here that currently do this type of thing as a bit of a hobby.

So before I go all out I would like to see what type of interest a site like this might generate so let me know if you would possibly be into supporting a site like this one.

It sounds intriguing, Dave, but I can barely hold a kazoo, much less play a real instrument. Good luck if you decide to proceed!

I was a guitar player in my youth, but don't have a guitar or any musical instrument so It's unlikely I would have any interest in this.

well i used to play a lot and still try to but i have a bit of arther in my fingers now so its difficult to play now , but i know a few on here who will be very interested including me .

I won't be any help in this forum, I was the kid that the teacher would stick at the back of the class that got to only play the Triangle.

Sounds like it would be interesting. I spend a little bit of time working on instruments and I'm looking to build a guitar or two in the near future if time permits. But I'm not sure how much time I would spend on a forum for instruments. It's been 40 years since I actually played anything and anything I build would just go to Kyle.

Dave if this isnt a goer what about a forum for good ideas and top tips on anything ! from bikes , cars , DIY , home improvments basically anything you can think of .
if you have a tip or a way of doing somthing that might help others post it up .......just a thought !

Well it does not seem that this one will be going anywhere so I still have a spare set of forum software. The biggest problem with starting a forum is getting a core group of around 5 to 10 members that will post up content. Without that you just never get over that peak of getting new members to join.

So if anyone else has any interesting ideas on a forum and we have people that will support it then we could give it a go.
