Re: Motor Oils.

I don't get out much :y2:
Actually I bought it used and it had very very low miles on it when I got it, you know little old lady drove it church and all that rot.:y15:

Upside is I should be able to get another 200,000 out of her easy. :y6:

Re: Motor Oils.

Yep, you will.

And I highly recommend 1 quart of the Lucas oil additive with every oil change.

I had a 1990 Chevy Suburban with the 350 V-8 - 2 bbl. that I sold with 375,000 miles on the original engine. The body rotted off, but the drive train was still running great. And that's not a motor know for longevity.

Re: Motor Oils.

Wow, you guys really run up the mileage!!!
My '08 Forester only has 64,000+ km's (40,000+ miles) on it.
It's only nicely broken in :y2:
But I'm retired and have never commuted to work since I live in the city and work was always within walking distance.
We intended to travel a lot in the Forester, but due to my wife's health we don't go very far these days.

Re: Motor Oils.

Rocky.....our Subarus are passed down through the family. My wife would commute 45 minutes 7 days a week in them. Then my eldest Son gets her old one, which then got passed down to the 2nd Son, and then finally down to the youngest (my Daughter who commutes 1/2 hour to work 6 days a week). That's just the required driving. They also went on trips, vacations, and daily errands.

My wife kind of messed up the cycle when she got her Jaguar. But then again, all the kids are now on their own and will have to buy their own wheels from now on.

As you well know, Subarus are awesome in durability and winter snow....they've served us well!

Re: Motor Oils.

We had three Subarus in our family. All were great, nearly indestructible cars. The last one got T-boned and bent the frame. May if I had used Rotella, that wouldn't have happened. :y2: Back on topic.

Re: Motor Oils.

Well this certainly is the most polite oil thread High Jack I have seen on any forum.........some get down right ugly....we really should stop though I get the impression Carl is about to give us each a time out:y2:
