My Riding environment has the ability of going from paved, to chip sealed roads and hence unimproved roads. As well as gravel parking lots, these situations make my back tire washout on me and I'm laying on my side.

Currently, I have a set Perlli
Sport Demons, front and rear.

I would like to mount a Shinto 705 on the rear wheel (I've checked, a 130/90-17 will fit). I'm want to fit a rear tire that will not washout on me on dirt ( unimproved roads).

What do you thing about a Perlli Demon Sport up front with a Shinko 705 on the back?

When I retired the bike, my Triumph dealership and I could only find the Pirellis in stock in the correct sizes. Other than the rear wheel washout, I can't say I like them, but can't say I don't like them. On the DR650 Suzi, I ran Shinkos (700's and 705's), and yes, would recommend them to anyone who asked.

Which is why I asked about putting a 705 on the rear end. An 80/20 on/off road tire with pretty decent road wear.

In the trail and dual sport community, mixing and matching tires is quite common. However, the Triumph is a whole 'nother beast to me. My first street specific bike. Better to ask, than end up in a really bad situation.

Whether street or dirt, wet or dry, the rear is where you want your best traction, in my opinion.

Thank you for your suggestion. I'm familiar with FortNine's videos. However, not being Canadian, and FortNine not shipping to the USA, I tend to forget about that resource.

I contacted FortNine and was directed to their YouTube channel. I'll be there next and touch back.

Yeah . . . Right just what I hear about mixing and matching tires are for a car.

Forgive me, but aren't we talking motorcycles here.

I have a perfectibility good Shinko E-700 rear tire in my garage. Only because I when my front tire ran out on the DR 650 , I went to the 705"s.

The bike is still on it's stand with pipes uninstalled. I've replaced the rear bearings. I've done an oil change with filter. At this time, pulling the wheel again would not be a problem. If I need to, I can pull the rear wheel, take to my local friendly HD dealership and have them mount the tire.

The only thing standing in my way is the fuel filter replacement.

I guess what I'm saying is I'll my local shop put my Shinko E-700 on the rear and screw everything that's been said.
