Low octane benzine

Hello,

I will drive his summer to the Silkroad (Central Asia) and will cross countries with very low octane benzine (up to 79 for the lowest). Our Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 can accept up to the lowest level of 89 octane (as per my swiss merchant). Lower is not good for the engine and it's result with a high lost of power and "clickty".
Does someone have a solution other then additifs (with can boost up to 5% the octane) or some very good additifs not runing the engine.

There probably isn't anyone here who has had to cope with such low octane gas, but it's possible.
It will be interesting to see any replies or solutions other than an octane booster.

Depending on how adjustable your ECU is, reducing spark advance will go a long way to reducing knock.
