Legend TT LED Turn Signal Upgrade Issue.

I've got a 2000 Legend and after upgrading my Headlight last year to an LED Daymaker last year, I opted to do my turn signals this year.

From watching Delboy's Garage recent Legend build and from what Google tells me, a bulb swap and Flasher Relay upgrade should've been all I needed.

I opted for Sylvania LED Bulbs and a EP 36 LED Flasher Relay. Install went fine and no hyperflash or solid light problems.

However, I can only get 3 of the 4 signals to work as LEDs. The front left signal has plenty of current as I checked with my multimeter, and I can run an Incandescent Bulb in the front left signal and the remaining 3 as LEDs.

However I get nothing out of the front left with an LED bulb. I've tried swapping one of the working signals in, both bulb and socket, and still Nada.

Suggestions?

From what I've read so far, the system was of course built for the incandescent bulbs and power flows not through that specific connection directly, but is pulled from the other signal on the same circuit, then into the bulb you want to light up.

Also, that your drawing current from the negative terminal, not the positive one in most older designs apparently.

I don't really understand it exactly, but it also went on to state that the LED needs the current to flow in 1 direction only or something, so I might need to install a diode??

Then it states that this problem only occurs in 1 bulb dash light systems, whereas I of course have 2 which apparently should never have a problem when doing a straight conversion to LED with an LED FLASHER RELAY installed.

This all in all in incredibly annoying, and I'm likely to either start ripping wires out or burn the damn thing for the insurance.

Compare the left front lamp wiring to the right front lamp, see if they match. Additionally, before cutting and splicing any wires, if possible, turn the left front lamp around 180 degrees in its socket; see if that makes a difference. You may have, coincidentally, gotten three right and one wrong.

It is much too early to start ripping things apart.

Appreciate the replies. It was obvious that this connection had been cut and taped multiple times so I unwrapped the tape for a peek.

Your polarity guess was right. Two splices up they reversed the connection so the exterior colours were wrong.

Fixed it just so it doesn't happen again, and voila, 4 working LED Turn Signals.

Thank you for your help and patience!
