Carl is always saying that he cannot ride a bike with a fairing in Florida.

So now that he's got a Tiger with a RADIATOR and PARTIAL FAIRING, I fully expect Carl to get a mankini too.

Just make sure you use Sun Block Carl!!

:y23: :y23: Don't hold your breath!

I guess the radiator guards and the tank guards do make sort of partial faring; but is basically a naked bike. Those plastic bits are there to protect the much more expensive metal bits underneath. And from photos I've seen, they do their job. That said, in traffic, the Tiger is uncomfortably hot with the forward mounted cat and the radiator fan. My T100 is much more pleasant in traffic. Moving on the road, I can feel a little heat on my legs; but it is easily tolerable.

As far as I know only helmets are required anywhere in North America. However there have been moves in some states to require protective gear. Fortunately, these have not gotten anywhere.

Helmets and eye protection required in some locations but as Carl said there are areas that have discussed requiring additional equipment. One proposal I read was wanting to require denim or leather jackets and gloves along with helmets and eye protection.

I don't think THIS guy is a big fan of ATGATT:

Jacob Southard beats the heat in St. Louis in a “mankini.”

Now THAT should be illegal!!

:y24: :y24: I think it is really funny very stupid but really funny

That is the one that I read. It was quickly pointed out that that particular wording would eliminate the textile, armored riding gear; so it was dropped.

Old argument, but surely this comes down to what and how you ride.

If I'm bimbling and pootering about I'll have my open face and t-shirt.

If I'm out for a real hoon or long distance/high speed I'll wrap up a bit more.

I believe the rider should always decide. If we are having compulsion in order to prevent costs to the health service then I want fags banned, booze restricted to two tins per person per week and weigh scales in the entrance to McDonalds to prevent fatties from buying more chips. ;)
