I just bought a new 2023 Triumph 900GT Pro and have only about 60 miles on it. I added a usb plug to the front power socket and have the Quad Lock wireless charger plugged into it. The bike hasn’t been started in about a week and when I went out today the battery was dead. I didn’t think the LED light for the sub plug would draw enough power to kill the battery in a week. I figured since I have to access the battery I’ll add the accessory cable so I can easily hookup a battery tender during the winter months. I added the cable and I let it charge for awhile. When I went to try it the bike would not turn over and the TFT screen says it’s out of fuel and also shows the shock icon. I know it’s not out if fuel since I topped it off about 10 miles ago. I’m going to let it charge overnight, but if nothing changes any ideas what the issue could be? The dealer is about 30 miles away and I’d rather not bring it there if I don’t have to.

My experience with the front plug has not worked out either and from what I’ve been reading that’s a common issue . I’m going back to the passenger socket connector for some key switchable power . As I mentioned before on another thread the Beemer guys are deleting the Din sockets in favour of the cigar lighter sockets , more reliable .

Can you uninstall those items, charge it and see it it works like before?

So the issue of the bike not starting after the battery was charged was due to a bad key. I checked all the fuses and was stumped so I called the dealer. Their mechanic said to try a different key. I did that and the bike fired right up. Tried the first key again and nothing worked except the TFT. I won’t leave the phone charger plugged in anymore just to be safe that I don’t kill the battery again.

Thanks for the replies.

Excellent news! At least it was a simple fix.

Thanks for reporting back. Glad it was a simple fix .

This is a very interesting thread. My 2023 900 GTPro did something similar to me a couple weeks ago with only 85 miles on it but I was away from home. When I turned the key on the dash lit up but the fuel pump would not cycle. Sat there for about 15 minutes turning it on and off then it finally cycled and started but once started it had a check engine light. Took to the nearest dealer which was 1.5 hr away and they did some tests and said that the dealer i purchased it from did not complete the setup after assembly correctly. They finished the process and said it was good. Drove back out and picked the bike up, went to take it for a ride last Friday and the same exact issue. After 3 tries with the key it fired but again, check engine light. It is back at the dealer now and they are trying to determine what is going on. It would be good if it is just the key, I will mention it to them and see if that could be it.

I hope your fix is that simple. Please let us know.

So last Friday I was going to drive to my dealer to have the key replace/ reprogrammed or whatever they would do. Since it’s about a 35 mile drive I figure I’d call to make sure they were open being it was Good Friday. The person I needed to see w hasn’t there so I didn’t go. I decided to try the key again and the bike fired right up with both keys‍♂️. Now I have no idea what it was or if just starting it with the good key and riding about 20 miles cleared something for the other key.

As I have mentioned somewhere else on the forum , I have wired my gps through the cigar lighter / usb combo charger which also resulted in a dead battery when power from the front Din socket , Using

the actual Garmin charger which apparently is the only way to go .Once I found the rear socket female plug , (the 850 comes sans the rear Din socket but the wiring is there) just needed two .250 blade fine wire connectors around 20 gauge , I think , which inserted into the female and crimped to the charger wires and I was in business . Had it for a couple of rides works great , BUT when I start the bike the fuel gauge shows empty for five or so seconds . Don’t think that ever happened before ?

On my 2021 Street Triple I ran a USB/lightning cable from the underseat USB port to the Quadlock mount on the bars and also one of these that I can access by lifting the pillion seat to use as an unswitched but fused power outlet or to connect my Optimate to.

When you guys purchase a new machine do you not get the breakdown cover we get in the UK?

I hard wired my TomTom to the same connector so it is switched with the ignition switch. I've not had any issues since doing this about 6 months ago
