Not that I need another project..

Triumph TRW 500 1955

Also on ebay:

1957 Triumph Other | eBay

Getting a title may be a nightmare though..

Didn't know for sure if I should list this here, but thought some of my fellow "old iron" lovers would like to take a look.

Always like to see the vintage bikes TUP
There are several running TRW's in our bike club and a couple in the restoration stage.

At one point a club member had more than 20 1957 TRW's in his collection, but he left the club some time ago and they have since been sold I'm told.

That would make a very nice project if you had the cash and time.

I kind of have the cash.. I can bide my time.. It's just getting it by the wife. Once snuck in my garage, she will never know.

The seller says he has a 3500.00 offer off the craigslist ad, but it is still listed on ebay for the 2500.00 lower price.. But then there is the mis matched numbers and foreign title issue..

Grandpaul needs to chime in! :whistle2:

As much as I would like to, I have to pass on trying to purchase it. No title and mis-matched numbers. Plus too many bikes already.

I agree, nice to have if the papers were in order, but probably more trouble that it's worth to sort out.
And of course, there is the problem of too many bikes already BGRIN

In reality, if it wasn't for the title problem and matching serial numbers I would be all over it!

I would be content having it in boxes sitting in a dry corner.

My only problem of too many bikes is the gas and batteries going bad. They all sit in a climate controlled room that is attached to the main garage.

It wouldn't be an issue with this one since it's in pieces.. I hope no one comes along and convinces me to get it. There currently is one ebay bid.

Hope that I forget about this deal and don't consider it for years to come as "the one that got away" !

Not as many bikes as grandpaul has, but still too many!

Well I decided against getting the TRW.. didn't like the mismatched numbers.

When I went to a bike event yesterday, I saw one for sale.

It was displayed by a local club. I asked one of the members If he saw the one for sale on Craigslist/ebay in which he stated he did.. turns out to be one of their members and he ended up selling it for 2500.00.

Makes me think I did the right thing for not getting it.. Based on the price for the one at the event, the one for sale on craigslist/ebay must have had some major problems if none of the other club members wanted it.
