I have a 2022 Scrambler 1200 XE. Recently replaced all four indicators with Denali T3 Switchbacks with no issues running for about a week. Then had heated grips installed by local dealer. After that I am having random indicator malfunctions for all 4 indicators (No blink, rapid blink, frozen signal). Had dealer run diagnostics and they could not find any issues. It seems that by touching/wiggling an indicator (not necessarily the one that is faulting) it corrects the malfunction temporality. Wiring seems sound. Any ideas what is going on??

Sounds like you may have a pinched wire somewhere, especially since this started after heated grips were installed. The dealer who did the work should check for this. Start with the indicator that seems to correct the issue. Could be that a wire is not making good ground. It is a matter of methodically checking one wire at a time to see if there is an obvious pinch or a loose connector.

There is a malfunction light on the dash. Triumph dealer couldn't find anything wrong with their work. Spent some time on the phone with Denali. Looking more like an issue with the CANBUS system. These subsystems on new bikes can be really picky about alterations. Seems like the different load from the indicators is confusing the system. They say sometimes just changing out the relay can be a solution. Working on that now and will post my results. If this doesn't work, the Denali T3's might not be compatible which would suck because they're awesome. The other solutions are to wait for the development of an ezCAN (by HEX) or CANsmart controller (Denali) for the Scrambler 1200, or fabricate a custom harness (ugh).

My problem occurred with stock unmodified indicators. It was a canbus programming issue.
The solution for me was for the Triumph mechanic to wipe the ECU clean and rewrite, manually, the operating code as supplied from Triumph Corporate. In doing so, certain parameters/values concerning turn signal operation were updated from stock software.
Not sure this will solve your situation but maybe It helps to know Triumphs response?

Thanks! I'll mention this to my dealer and see what they say. What year/model is your bike?

The local bus system here has just recently been getting the use it deserves and I’m glad for that but I won’t be using it . Won’t be using the Can bus either , to many issues and I never did have the patience for that sort of stuff . Hooking things directly to the battery can stress me out enough already.
