Bonneville T100
Have not had a lot to report until now. I decided to have a friend rebuild the bottom end since I had never done this. We did the top end a few years back. I am so busy on my 1953 Chevy truck hotrod project that I do not have any spare time for the bike, so I asked him to do it for me. Since he is a Triumph, Norton and BMW technician who better to undertake this project for me. He called me to tell me to call Baxter to get some gaskets. He also told me everything looked good but the sludge tube was half filled up but is now clean as a whistle. While he has it he is also going to put the JRC carbs on. I will let you know how they perform as soon as I get the bike back which will probably be 2-3 weeks from now (which is fine because I can't get by there to pick it up until then). One problem occured when I had Ozzie put the electric start system on which was the MK II's were so long the bottom bowl bolt was resting on top of the starter + connecting bolt head so I had to cut it down half way to get clearance. The JRC's are about an inch shorter and there will be ample clearance using them. Now that my bike will be totally restored I can hardly wait to get her on the road again.
