Took my 2012 bike out last week for a ride, parked it for a week, then tried to take it out again Monday. Wouldn't start. After a lot of internet searching and taking things apart and puuting them together again, I found out something: if the headlight fuse if blown, the bike won't start. Nowhere did I see this in the manual, and the only way I found it was by by trying a different "search." On the up (safety) side, it would seem you can't ride the bike without the headlight on.

Anyone else ever heard of this? Have you run into it yourself?

Called Triumph USA today. The woman said it was something no one really seemed to know. I'm thinking everybody shoould know.

Wow, never heard of it either. However the "Nanny State" forces all sorts of systems on us we don't want, need OR know about.
It seems akin to the side stand kill switch in a way. Might be a way around it for the electrically inclined...........
I am not much help with the 800 Tigers, perhaps Carl or one of the other 800 owners can assist.
Best of luck sorting it out.

Update:

Talked to my local dealership tonight. The tech was able to push start the bike with a blown headlight fuse. He also started the bike traditionally, then pulled the fuse--the bike kept running. The conclusion is that the only thing the blown fuse does is disable the starter.

This does contradict a little bit of what Triumph USA told me, but the woman there was going to do more research--call Triumph England--and get back to me.

(As a side note {that you all may already know}, apparently, the service engine light on the 2011 and 2012 will reset itself after a certain amount of time/miles.)

I am sure we had a discussion on this issue at some time but I cannot find the thread. Maybe Carl will be able to give a bit more input on this when he reads this thread.

This is not the same issue but maybe you would get some good info by reading this one as well 30 Amp Starter Fuse

Yep had that exact problem late 2011, was installing a Bazzaz fuel injection kit and somehow blew the headlight fuse.

took me an hour to find figure out why it wouldn't start.

Damn annoying.

The bike will not start using the starter if the headlight fuse is blown or removed. The starter is on the same circuit - by design. However if the fuse blows while you are riding, the bike will keep on running just fine. Make sure you have spare fuse for the headlight circuit.

Yep, sounds familiar. I went thru these circuits while trying to sort out my bike. The starter relay does go thru the fuse for the headlight. The check engine light will reset after 3 engine cycles without a problem.
