Hi All, Just joined a few months ago while looking for a used T100 with carb. Found a 2006 T100 in Illinois & have had it shipped to me in So Cal, it was from a dealer. Anyway, love the bike, but of course there are a few small issues that never show up in pics.
First, I wanted to change the handlebars from flat cafe racer style to more of a stock bar. Bought a used stock T100 bar off ebay. Went to install it yesterday and had a major problem getting the bolts out of the riser clamp. All 4 were pretty frozen, got the top 2 out with a little time and lots of grunt. The bottom 2 moved some (enough to loosen the clamp and pull the bar old bar out), but then wouldn't budge at all. Finally took an impact wrench (at low setting) to them, one came out, the other snapped off.
Now things get interesting. I'm no ace mechanic, but thought I could drill out the stud. Started with a small drill bit. Very hard going. Moved up through a couple bit sizes, until one broke off inside the hole. So now, the old bolt and drill bit are both stuck in the lower riser. I've pretty much given up on fixing this, so, I'm looking for a used stock lower riser that will fit a 2006 T100. I don't have enough posts to post in the "Wanted" forum, so I'm appealing to anyone out there who has one or a set or knows where I might find one. Appreciate any help. Thanks.
