This is soooo COOL I would love to have those in my garden. We just have very average types of birds that I feed each day that come along. Now and then we will see some different ones with a bit more colour
I got up close and personal with a wren when I was filling his feeder. He flew toward the feeder and landed on my shoulder. We were standing there looking eye to eye and then I guess he finally realized he was doing something he wasn't supposed to do. He flew up on to a branch above me and watched me finish filling the feeder. As soon as I walked off he flew down to the feeder. I've haven't been able to get him to land on my shoulder again, he just flys to the same branch and watches me.
We are lucky as the King parrots are very friendly and even fly into my shed! The Crimson Rosellas are more timid and rarely will eat out of your hand but do call and come down for seed!
I will post more videos when we get another nice sunny Spring Day but it doesn't look too good this weekend coming !
We also have fairly friendly Australian Magpies beautiful bird, meat eater with a great whistle which I am fortunate enough to have one feed from my hand and give his great warble whistle check this Youtube link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2_kdTaHbdk
They are funny the birds sometimes very friendly maybe when very hungry then other times just watch you but will keep a distance. It great that you had him on your shoulder!

Yeah we have crows as well all black in colour and their call is like they are saying a dirty four letter ha ha! We also have Currajongs which are simular in size to a crow but have a little bit of white on them as well. They also have a much more pleasent call. The magpies eat worms, insects and some seed. I feed them scraps of meat and if we have a BBQ the magpies and Kookaburras come to get some meat scraps.
Greg, I like both video's. Very cool. We don't have magpies in my part of the US; but we do have crows. Thanks for the videos. It looks like you live in a lovely place.
