FOURIESBURG RUN - OWN UP NOW!

The annual Fouriesburg run is just around the corner, and as usual, the staunch, loyal supporters who go every year and support this run 150%, booked accommodation last year. It's that popular.

Now apparently, this is just not playing the game because because some riders have not been able to join the run because the accommodation is full. We now have new rules for next year - we are now prohibited from booking our accommodation a year in advance because it's unfair to "newbies" who don't get a chance to go on this run.

So, own up if you booked a year in advance and own up if you're one of the deprived bunch who couldn't get a booking!

So far 2 regular, staunch and stalwart supporters have cancelled, 1 is in the process of cancelling and 5 are seriously considering cancelling. The regular supporters are somewhat peeved at this and the feeling is that we don't want to go where we are not welcome.

Other opinions welcome.

I am in the process of cancelling my bookings because I feel that obviously newbies need to go, and because I booked last year, this is unaceptable to the powers that be, I feel I am going to cancell and go on another ride, where there is no politics involved. :y72:

Well you know my opinion -we cancelled our booking (which we made last Sept) in March. We had a standard booking for the same room every year and have been on this run since the inception. Oh well I will miss my annual Fouriesburg badge.

Farside has also been going since inception, I've only been going for 5 years. The "regulars" have made this run what is and although I believe the newbies need to join the run and meet the oldhands.......Just don't bite the hand that feeds you. The oldies would make the newbies feel welcome anyway but now the oldies feel unwelcome.

Natal Spa.........that sounds very cool to me. Good thinking Littleloon :y115:

Spellcheck rants are Farside's specialty. I just type faster than this site can handle or my keyboard can handle! Either that or I'm not quite awake yet and need another cup of coffee!

She starts yodeling when she gets grumpy

If you guys feel that strongly about this issue I'll go riding with you anywhere. But as you know I DON'T like capitulating to nonsense politics, because you then become part of it. But... I have to keep my Gromit happy no matter what
